A simple Spanish dessert recipe – rice with milk

Rice with milk is one of those simple desserts that neither adults nor children can resist. Yes, it is considered a dessert, since sugar, cinnamon and vanilla are added during cooking. August 9 was the day of this delicate dish. What is not a reason to cook it at home?

Ingredients :

  • 130 grams of round rice;
  • 800 ml of milk ;
  • 100 grams of sugar;
  • Lemon zest;
  • Powdered cinnamon;
  • Salt;
  • Vanilla.

Cooking :

– Put rice, sugar, cinnamon, lemon zest and a pinch of salt in a saucepan;

– Pour 800 ml of milk and cover the pan with a lid;

– Place the pan in an oven heated to 170ºC. Simmer rice for an hour under a closed lid. After the first 30 minutes, stir the dish;

– After an hour has passed, open the pan lid and leave it in the oven for another 15 minutes;

– After cooking, you can add warm milk if you want to make the dish thinner:

– When serving, you can additionally sprinkle with cinnamon to taste.
