Antonio Banderas has confirmed his participation in the filming of the fifth part of “Indiana Jones”

Last Thursday, there were reports in the American press that Spanish actor Antonio Banderas would be starring in the fifth Indiana Jones film. The very next day, the actor himself also confirmed his participation. “I am honored to accompany on screen one of the most charismatic characters in the history of cinema, created by Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, James Mangold and other members of the talented team,” the actor said on social networks.

Banderas will soon be joining the ongoing filming of the continuation of the adventures of the fearless archaeologist, who managed to become the emblem of adventure cinema. In addition to starring Harrison Ford, it is known that the cast will also include Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook and Shawnette Rene Wilson. For the first time in the history of the saga, Steven Spielberg, retaining the role of producer, does not take over the leadership of the film, completely surrendering this mission to James Mangold. So far, little is known about the feature film, which is slated to premiere in July 2022: no definitive title, no rough plot.

Thanks to the Indiana Jones saga, Antonio Banderas is strengthening his connection to Hollywood. According to him, his long-term plans include life in Malaga and long-awaited premieres at his Soho Theater. However, it looks like there will be time for Hollywood too.
