Authorities begin screening households employing foreign labor

The Regional Authority of Southern Finland (AVI) is monitoring households that employ foreign labor this year.

The purpose of monitoring is to prevent exploitation labor. In particular, the authorities will check employers for compliance with Finnish labor laws.

According to AVI, foreigners working in households are at increased risk of being victims of labor exploitation.

This is the first such monitoring to be undertaken on their own by labor protection authorities.
