Coalition Party Chairman Petteri Orpo went on sick leave until the end of July

Coalition Party Chairman Petteri Orpo will be on sick leave until the end of July. On Wednesday, he underwent coronary artery bypass surgery at Meilahti Hospital in Helsinki.

Orpo went to the doctor with complaints of poor health, and he was found to have a blood clot in one of the coronary arteries. The operation, according to experts, went well. Orpo should be discharged from the hospital on Thursday.

The coalition party, led by Petteri Orpo, has just won municipal elections. In Orpo's absence, his duties will be performed by deputy chairmen, MPs Anna-Kaisa Ikonen , Antti Häkkönen and Elina Valtonen .
