Marin hopes pandemic-related restrictions can be dropped in October

Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP) said following today’s government talks that an updated coronavirus strategy should be approved in Monday, 6 September.

According to the head of government, the level of vaccination required to lift restrictive measures will probably be reached in October. Then, it is estimated that over 80% of the country’s population over the age of 12 will be fully vaccinated.

The Prime Minister added that the Corona Passport is a tool that will help avoid restrictive measures. According to her, he will act on a voluntary basis.

Also, the head of government said that the issue of canceling the mandatory safe distance is still under development. According to Marin, the parliament will consider it as soon as possible. The cancellation of this restrictive measure is especially awaited by cultural and sports figures.
