Minister: in the cultural sphere, the requirement for a safe distance of two meters will be abandoned

The requirement for a safe distance of two meters and the division of the public into groups will be removed, assures the Minister of Science and Culture Antti Kurvinen (Center).

He tweeted that the new guidelines being prepared by the Department of Social Affairs and Health are in line with his own position, and also the position of the Ministry of Education and Culture, headed by him, on this issue.

According to Kurvinen, first of all, restrictions can be lifted from events with a low risk level.

It is also necessary to urgently prepare the introduction of a crown passport, which will allow to ensure the holding of cultural events in the future.

The new restrictions will take effect in the Capital Region tomorrow, August 20. Because of them, almost all concerts of the Helsingin Juhlaviikot festival had to be canceled. The National Opera rebelled against the restrictions, which said it would open the season without complying with the requirement to divide the audience into groups.
