More and more people are lost in the forests of Finland

Last year, the police conducted many more operations to find people lost in the forest compared to 2019.
More people are expected to be lost this year. Judging by the travel agencies’ data, trips to national parks are in demand – people who previously went abroad are now interested in the nature of Finland.
The police annually search for about a thousand lost. Most of them are berry pickers.
The police recommend that anyone going to pick berries to bring enough food and water with them, as well as a fully charged phone and first aid kit.
Travelers should also download the “112” app on their smartphones. Available from Google Play, AppStore and Windows Store, a free app helps those in trouble get in touch with rescuers faster and gives them the location of the caller.
