New Meeting Restrictions Introduced in the Capital Region

New restrictions on gatherings are being introduced in the metropolitan area.

The Regional Authority of Southern Finland (AVI) has decided that the number of participants in public events will not be must exceed 25 people indoors and 50 people outdoors.

A safe distance of 2 meters must also be maintained. This also applies to sports clubs and virtually ban all amateur team sports.

The new restrictions will come into force on August 20 in Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo and Kauniainen. They will remain in effect until September 12.

Limits on audience size can be avoided if visitors are divided into groups, according to AVI.

The new restrictions do not apply to educational institutions, kindergartens, professional sports, as well as private and family events.
