Olympics: boxer Mira Potkonen reached the semifinals and has already secured a bronze medal

Finnish boxer Mira Potkonen (weight category 57 kg) defeated Turkish woman Ezru Yldiriz (3- 2) and reached the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics. This means that Potkonen secured herself as a minimum a bronze medal.
40-year-old Potkonen is the oldest medalist in women’s boxing in the history of the Olympics.
Only one Finnish boxer, Pentti Hämäläinen , has won medals at two consecutive Olympic Games. At the last Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Potkonen was the bronze medalist and the only Finnish medalist.
Mira Potkonen will play the semi-final fight early Thursday morning.
