The car factory in Uusikaupunki needs additional workers – only half of the thousand jobs are filled

Valmet Automotive will conduct an online recruiting campaign to attract new employees.

Valmet Automotive, based in Uusikaupnki and Salo, has already employed 650 workers to manufacture car batteries and assemble cars. According to a press release from the company, out of a thousand jobs, just over half are filled, but both lines need additional workers in August-September.

In the summer, the company will conduct a new recruiting campaign to attract workers.

350 new employees started working at the plant in March. Valmet Automotive reports that there are currently about 200 jobs open on the car assembly line, of which 100 are hot jobs for August-September.

The battery assembly line in Salo and Uusikaupnki hired 300 workers this year. Every fifth of them holds a managerial position. The battery industry still needs 200 workers. New hands are needed especially after the holiday season.
