The consular section of the Russian embassy has stopped receiving citizens for an indefinite period

The reason for the suspension of work is a difficult epidemiological situation.
From today, the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Helsinki has suspended the reception of visitors. Information about this appeared on the official website of the diplomatic mission.
The reason is the “epidemiological situation”, but it is not specified what changes in the course of the coronavirus epidemic led to the suspension of the department’s work. The embassy told Yle News that they had to cancel existing citizens’ reservations. In addition, the appointment for a future appointment has been stopped.
So far, the embassy cannot give an exact date for the restoration of admission, but said that an epidemiological risk assessment will be carried out next Friday or next Monday. They promise to inform additionally about the resumption of admission in the consular section.
For urgent notarial issues, the diplomatic mission recommends contacting the offices located in Turku or Lappeenranta. Other consular affairs can be settled either in Tallinn or in Russia.
