The number of crossings of the eastern border did not increase, despite the ease of entry into the country for Russian summer residents

Owners of Finnish cottages from Russia are in no hurry to go on vacation to South-East Finland, according to the statistics on border crossings.
Two weeks ago, Finland allowed property owners to cross the EU and Schengen borders for no good reason. Thus, Russian owners of Finnish cottages can again travel to Finland.
However, as reported at the Vaalimaa and Nujamaa border checkpoints, the majority of Russians crossing the border are persons with two passports of Finland and Russia.
The number of crossings remained the same, possibly also because the summer vacation season in Russia begins towards the end of July.
