The reason for the tragedy of the ferry “Estonia” that sank 30 years ago will be tried again

This week, at the place where the ferry “Estonia” sank, work will start again, the purpose of which is to finally find out the cause of the death of the ship and passengers.

The decision to send scuba divers to study the sunken ship was made after a documentary was shown last year, which revealed new information about the damage to the hull of the sunken ferry.

Divers will study the wreck for ten days. They have to take 25,000 images, which will be used to create a 3D model of the Estonian hull.

The ferry from Tallinn to Stockholm sank in autumn 1994. This tragedy claimed the lives of more than 800 people.
