The storm “Vieno” at night hit the western regions of Finland and moves across the country to the eastern borders
Utilities are on alert for possible power outages caused by Storm Vieno.
A massive storm front carries with it strong gusts of wind and rain. Especially in the central regions of the country, it is forecasted that power line falls due to falling trees.
Utilities will allocate additional resources if necessary to deal with the storm’s aftermath. Strong winds, however, could slow the progress of renovations.
As of Tuesday morning, about 40,000 households are without electricity.
