THL: 222 new cases of coronavirus in Finland per day

Health and Social Development Agency THL reports 222 new coronavirus infections in Finland.
Treatment in hospitals across the country, as on Monday, is underway 41 people, 9 of them are in intensive care units.
According to the head physician of the Department of Infectious Diseases of HUS Asko Järvinen , most of those hospitalized with coronavirus infection were not vaccinated.
Järvinen told Ilta-Sanomat that of the eleven patients currently being cared for in hospitals in the Helsinki and Uusimaa Medical District, seven have not been vaccinated. Two were given one vaccination. One patient received both components of the vaccine, but has a chronic illness that weakens the vaccine’s defenses. Data from another patient is missing.
According to Ilta-Sanomat, the age of those hospitalized with covid varies from 25 to about 70 years.
